After the holidays, enjoyment of many delights and a few kilos more everybody is talking about detox. Everyone wants to clean the body inside and out, purify and start the year with new energy. But what is actually meant with detox?
The word detox is american and has its roots in detoxification - the total renunciation of normal and luxury food. Today detox is directly connected with the spring-clean of the body.
Daily we get toxic substances with our food, the air or the skin. A detox cure shall help to relieve our body. The body is able to retire some toxics but not every. Those which stay in the body, can lead to cell damages or chronic diseases. The detoxification and and purification prevents that by relieving the inner organs and the bowel. It boosts the metabolism, helps losing weight and strengthens the immune system.
You feel weak and tired? You are fatigue and discomfortable? A detox cure can help to improve this physical and spiritual condition radically. Because such a cure provides your body with new energy, great mood and well-being. And over all it strengthens our consciousness - we pay attention on what we eat and what we do with our body.
Stick to it!
The first days of a detox cure are often difficult. No caffeine or sugar supply can lead to mood swings. But sticking to it is worth the effort. After five days it gets much easier.
What to avoid while detoxing?
Who detoxes, waives outlasting foods completely for a while. For example meat, dairy products, sugar, white flour, coffee and alcohol. The really strong ones also stop smoking. On the table are only fruits, green vegetables, millet, wholemeal rice, vegetable fats and nuts. But most important is to drink enough (2-3 liters per day) - water or tea without sugar. You are bored of water? No problem! Just add some fruits like blueberries, oranges, mint and lemon, cool it and enjoy it.
